The State Planning Commission is continually on the lookout for the brightest, most talented individuals from the country to work with us in shaping Tamilnadu’ s growth story. We recruit Policy Consultants, Senior Research Fellows, Research Assistants and Data Analysts on the needs based around the State’s focus areas. We also invite applications from interns on a full-time basis to gain valuable hands-on experience, and contribute to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Public Policy Consultant

The public policy consultants assist the State Planning Commission in collecting and summarizing relevant academic literature and policy documents on specific topics. The public policy consultants will also prepare the policy documents and chapters for reports under the direction of the State Planning Commission. The consultants also make field visits to evaluate on-going programmes or to collect information and data on specific issues. 

Research Assistant

Research Assistants work alongside Public Policy Consultants in the preparation of policy documents and reports. The Research Assistant will also be involved in primary data collection and field work related to the studies carried out by the State Planning Commission. 

Senior Data Analyst

Senior Data Analysts shall assist the teams in the collection and analysis of data, for studies and evaluations by using latest data processing tools / software. The Senior Data Analyst shall also be involved in primary data collection and field work related to studies.

Senior Research Fellow

Senior Research Fellows (SRF) shall assist the Tamil Nadu State Land Use Research Board (TNSLURB) in the collection and summarizing of relevant academic literature. They are also involved in preparation of research publications / reports, maps for Land use Analysis, Forest Land Use Changes and its buffer zone for TNSLURB. The SRFs will support data analysis related to Land Use using statistical tools and geo-spatial tools. Secondary data collection and analysis of data, review and monitoring of such studies for TNSLURB studies and GIS related project appraisals shall also fall under the scope of work for the SRF.

TANII Consultant

The public policy consultants assist the State Planning Commission in collecting and summarizing relevant academic literature and policy documents on specific topics. The public policy consultants will also prepare the policy documents and chapters for reports under the direction of the State Planning Commission. The consultants also make field visits to evaluate on-going programmes or to collect information and data on specific issues.

Young Innovators

The public policy consultants assist the State Planning Commission in collecting and summarizing relevant academic literature and policy documents on specific topics. The public policy consultants will also prepare the policy documents and chapters for reports under the direction of the State Planning Commission. The consultants also make field visits to evaluate on-going programmes or to collect information and data on specific issues.

Internships

The State Planning Commission welcomes internship applications from postgraduate students and Ph.D. candidates, during winter and summer breaks according to academic calendars. The application periods are in November and April, corresponding to the respective breaks. Internships are available on a full-time basis for a minimum of one month, and no stipend is provided.
