The Administration vertical is pivotal in overseeing the administrative matters concerning all staff members of the State Planning Commission, Tamil Nadu.

Core Functions
Human Resource Management
The Administration vertical oversees the recruitment, establishment, and service of officers and officials across diverse groups. It also provides oversight for daily wagers, outsourced staff, contractual staff, and interns. Additionally, the vertical maintains service records and manages day-to-day services, from appointment to retirement.
Accounts and Payroll
Handling financial matters, the vertical is involved in managing accounts and pay-related aspects for officers and officials. For this, bills are prepared for salary and non-salary purposes.
Pension Administration
This includes the centralized management of pension-related matters for government officers/officials. The vertical addresses RTI matters, and pension budget-related issues.
Facility Management
Overseeing housekeeping services, building maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation falls under the purview of the Administration vertical. It also manages the staff cars and parking arrangements, and central registry operations. Coordination of committee rooms for meetings and seminars, arranging hospitality for official meetings, implementing protocols for VIPs, and procurement of goods and services are additional responsibilities.
Capacity Building
Nominating officers for training programs is part of the vertical’s responsibilities. It supports delegations for participation in seminars, conferences, and forums.
Right to Information (RTI)
Handling all applications under the RTI Act, 2005, and the disposal of related appeals, both received directly and forwarded from other departments.
The overarching commitment of the Administration vertical is to ensure transparency, efficiency, and excellence in the administration and personnel management of the State Planning Commission.
