Plan Coordination

Core Functions

The Plan Coordination vertical is responsible for organising Full Commission Meetings, as directed by the Vice-Chairman and Members of SPC. This vertical drives coordination with relevant Government departments for TANII Appraisal discussions, to ensure smooth execution of the TANII Scheme.  The division also undertakes the convening of State Evaluation and Advisory Board (SEAB) meetings and discussions, by working closely with the Department of Evaluation and Applied Research.

Sectoral Discussions

The Vertical organizes sector-specific discussions with the relevant departments to understand and address the issues and challenges pertaining to the Economic Advice and Statistics, Financial Resources, Governance and Innovation sectors. Planning Commission members contribute valuable insights and advocate for optimal practices, and these recommendations are then presented to the Government for thoughtful consideration.

Research & Knowledge Sharing

The Vertical also facilitates inter-departmental coordination and organises workshops that bring together key stakeholders and experts in the various domains of economy, to analyse the economic growth pattern of Tamil Nadu.

TANII: Funding Innovation

As the premier advisory body to the Government of Tamil Nadu, the State Planning Commission has been at the forefront of fostering innovation in public service delivery since 2015 through the Tamil Nadu Innovation Initiatives (TANII).
